| Player Wait List |
WAITING LIST RULES If two or more teams have placed a bid on the same player, the following rules apply: 1. The team with the smallest active roster will receive the player. A team's active roster consists of all current rostered players, minus any players on the team's Disabled List. Players on the Disabled List are ineligible to play in any REBL game for four successive games from the date of being placed on the Disabled List (Doubleheader games count as 1 game) by their manager. Managers must file players on the Disabled LIst with the league office and cannot do so retroactively. If two or more teams have the same size active roster, then the following rules apply: A. Within the first 4 games of the current season, the team with the worst overall win-loss record the previous season will receive the player. If two or more teams have the same previous season record, then the team with the worst current win-loss record will receive the player. If the teams are tied with their current records, then a coin flip will determine the receiving team of the player. B. After 4 games have been played, the team with the worst overall win-loss record during the current season will receive the player. If two or more teams have the same current record, then the team with the worst win-loss record the previous season will receive the player. If the teams are tied with their previous season records, then a coin flip will determine the receiving team of the player. Teams are not allowed to communicate with Waiting List player after they have been placed on the list. Once a waiting list player has been added to your team, they cannot be released during the season in which they were added. WAITING LIST PROCESS AND TRYOUTS The REBL will conduct a monthly tryout of all waiting list players, to be held on the final Thursday of the month (unless there is a scheduled bye the following Sunday, in which the tryout will take place the previous Thursday). The following day (Friday), teams may make bids on the players on the waiting list. Players will be assigned to teams that day, and will be eligible to play on Sunday. Player Information on the waiting list players will not be released to managers until the week of the tryouts. Only players attending a tryout can be selected off the waiting list (some extenuating circumstances may be considered). Only teams attending a tryout may select players off the waiting list (unless no teams place a bid on the player). Players are not required to attend more than one tryout to be selected by a team, however, they may attend as many as they like. Tryouts will be held in April, May, June, and July. There will be no tryouts in August and September. Teams may request an "Emergency Bid" on a player. This allows a team to pick up a player to avoid forfeiture of a game. Teams placing an "Emergency Bid" will get their player before their next game, but cannot bid on a player who has not yet attended a tryout. Teams must RSVP the league office by Wednesday (5:00pm) before the Thursday tryout in order to be allowed to place a bid on a player. This ensures that a tryout is not scheduled if no teams plan on attending.
